Charlotte & Pr. Titus Scholl (center) surrounded by their children at a family wedding function in the early 1970's.

Originally from New York, Charlotte Scholl has been a member of First Lutheran in Fremont, NE since 2000. Charlotte & her husband Pr. Titus Scholl, (now deceased), together raised their four lovely children while serving the church.

Charlotte says it was her parents who first taught her the gift of giving. While growing-up in Brooklyn, NY., Charlotte remembers her father being audited by the IRS. With no foul play found, his returns were suspect due to the family’s many charitable contributions.

"We did not have a great deal," explained Charlotte, "but a substantial percentage of what we did have was given to those in real need."

Now 92, Charlotte lives independently, enjoys classical music, and is an active member of a local creative writing group.

No matter where Charlotte Scholl has lived, one thing has remained the same, her commitment to giving to those in need.

Charlotte has found the Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) to be a great charitable vehicle for her benefit as well as the charities she loves. Through her CGAs, she receives: a significant charitable deduction, a large percentage of her return as tax-free income, a much larger return than she would receive on CDs or Money Market accounts and in the end will make substantial gifts to her favorite Ministries! Recognizing the great benefits, Charlotte has added new CGAs each year. n
